The Modern Orthodox temple Boca Raton Synagogue recently got to use its world-record tallit for use in the annual Simchat Torah holiday on Oct. 6. A tallit is a Jewish prayer shawl that children sit under during Simchat Torah to have an honor recited for them. Traditionally, everyone in the congregation would bring their own individual shawl to hold over their children, but Boca Raton synagogue to create a single giant tall it in 2012. Boca Raton’s tallit was Guinness certified on March 5, 2015.
