“It’s going to be huuuuge,” says Palm Beach resident Bill Boone when asked about the Town Hall Square celebration coming to town on January 31st. The event will celebrate the restoration of Palm Beach’s iconic Addison Mizner-designed Memorial Fountain. The fountain, which was originally constructed in 1929, will be hidden by construction barriers until the big day of the event.

The fountain is the centerpiece of Burkhardt Construction’s effort to renovate Memorial Park that began in early October. The park renovations, which were designed by SMI Landscape Architecture and architect Mike Marsh, should be finished by the time the fountain is unveiled.

Local residents have donated $1 million to the park restoration project to date. The Town Hall Square celebration will reveal the identities of these generous donors and thank them for their help. The event will also highlight the history of Memorial Park with educational lectures and a show of old photographs.
