Alyssa di Edwardo, a former paralegal who changed careers at age 53 to become a painter, is the first recipient of a grant from the Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists. The 90-year-old Ms. Baker created the fund because after her successful career as an abstract expressionist she wanted to give something back to the Palm Beach artistic community. Grants from the fund can be used by artists for anything they wish to buy. Di Edwardo will be using the money to buy supplies and studio space to create a new series of paintings.
