The Sunshine State Biomass Cooperative, a recycling company, will be opening a new facility in western Palm Beach County. The company purchased a 25-acre site at 1740 N. State Market Road in Pahokee, and plans to build a 20,000-square-foot facility that will employ 200 people. The facility will recycle waste into compost and mulch for agricultural use. The new jobs will pay more than the current median household income of Pahokee, and the city’s Business Development Board hopes that the facility will have a lasting impact on the Glades region’s economy.
